AFRICAN HEALTH SUMMIT AWARD NOMINATION

We are pleased to announce that the nominations for the African Health Summit and Nursing Awards categories are now open. These awards are designed to recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations to Nigerian nurses in Ireland and exceptional nurses who have demonstrated outstanding clinical skills, leadership, and commitment to patient care and the nursing community in Ireland.    

The criteria for nomination in the African Health Summit category include individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to improving healthcare access and outcomes for Africans in Ireland. This may include innovative approaches to healthcare delivery, recruitment and advocacy for policies that support of African healthcare professionals in Ireland.   

The Nursing Awards category criteria include nurses who have demonstrated exceptional clinical skills, leadership, and commitment to patient care. This may include nurses who have introduced innovative practices or research to improve patient outcomes, demonstrated excellence in teaching or mentoring, and contributed to the advancement of the nursing profession in Ireland.   

We encourage you to nominate deserving individuals or organizations who have made significant contributions to the healthcare of the African community in Ireland. The nomination process is easy and can be completed online at our website. 

The winners will be announced and honored at the African Health Summit and Nursing Awards ceremony on July 29th 2023. We look forward to celebrating their achievements. Thank you for your support and participation!

Anyone can nominate candidates for awards regardless of your profession. 
The deadline for nominations is May 31st, 2023.   
Any African Nurse in Ireland with track records can be nominated for all individual awards

CRITERIA FOR INDIVIDUAL AWARDS CATEGORIES:   

NURSE OF THE YEAR:   
·    Demonstrated excellence in patient care and clinical skills. 
·    Exceptional compassion, empathy, and dedication to the well-being of patients. 
·    Strong leadership qualities and ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team. 
·    Continuous professional development and commitment to staying updated with current nursing practices.
·    Positive impact on the nursing profession through advocacy, mentorship, or research.    

DISTINGUISHED CAREER AWARD   
·   Outstanding contribution to the nursing profession over a significant period. 
·   Demonstrated leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing healthcare. 
  · Sustained excellence in patient care, education, research, or policy development. 
·   Positive impact on the nursing community through mentorship, advocacy, or professional organizations.
·   Recognition and respect from peers and colleagues.    

NURSE INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR:   
·   Development or implementation of innovative practices, technologies, or programs that improve patient care or healthcare delivery. 
·  Evidence of creative problem-solving and originality in nursing practice. 
·  Positive outcomes resulting from the innovation, such as improved patient outcomes, cost savings, or increased efficiency. 
·  Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams or stakeholders to drive innovation. 
·   Potential for the innovation to be replicated or scaled in other healthcare settings.    

CLINICAL SERVICE LEADERSHIP AWARD:  
  ·         Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in a clinical setting.
  ·         Effective management of resources, personnel, and patient care activities. 
  ·         Promotion of quality improvement initiatives and patient safety. 
  ·         Strong communication and collaboration with the healthcare team. 
  ·         Evidence of improved patient outcomes or organizational performance under the nominee's leadership   

NURSE VETERAN AWARD:
    
  • Demonstrated exemplary service as a nurse in the military or armed forces or in voluntary or paid humanitarian missions of any sort.   
  • Long-standing commitment and dedication to providing healthcare to service members and veterans.  
  • Leadership and professionalism displayed during service.  
  • Advocacy for the health and well-being of veterans.  
  • Continued contribution to the nursing profession and veteran community post- service.   
  • Positive impact on the lives of fellow service members, rescue team, veterans, and their families.   
  • Recognition and respect from peers and colleagues in the nursing and humanitarian communities.    

CRITERIA FOR INSTITUTION AWARDS CATEGORY   

HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR:   
  • Demonstrated excellence in overall healthcare management and performance. 
  • Innovation in healthcare delivery, patient care, or organizational processes. 
  • Strong leadership and governance.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning. 
  • Positive impact on the local healthcare community or population health.  
HEALTHCARE RECRUITMENT AGENCY OF THE YEAR:
